I love Autumn.
I love the smells, the colours and the excuse to make a hot chocolate, wrap myself in a blanket and watch a good film.
However, with the nights drawing in and the temperature dropping, some people can really find it hard.
Also known as ‘Winter Depression’, Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) affects around 2 million people in the UK and can affect any age group from young children to the elderly. Due to reduced exposure to sunlight in Autumn and Winter, symptoms can range from low mood to a complete disinterest in normal everyday activities and feelings of despair, guilt and worthlessness. If you suffer with Seasonal Affective Disorder, these darker and colder months can be an immense challenge.
Now more than ever is the time to ensure that you look after yourself and avoid the feelings that SAD can bring. How can you help yourself?
