Services
Well Minds PTS is here to support you to build your mental fitness and have the tools you need to stay well. It’s perfectly normal to feel low, anxious, angry or upset from time to time but if you have been feeling like this more often than not recently, then it might be that you need some support from a therapy service like us. We use a range of therapies to support our clients, including NHS recommended and evidence-based therapies.
Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy
CBT helps people to learn about the relationship between our negative thoughts, how those thoughts make us feel and how those negative thoughts and feelings cause us to change our behaviours. Over time we can get stuck in negative vicious cycles which cause lots of distress in our day to day lives. By learning what keeps us stuck, we can make small practical changes to get ‘unstuck’. It is the current evidence-based treatment for treating a range of mental health problems in the NHS and is recommended by National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE).
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR is a type of therapy that helps you to process traumatic memories from your past. These memories can make you feel stuck. It can feel as though you are still in the past, reliving the event over and over again with the same distressing feelings as when it first happened.
In EMDR, we use bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements, tapping or sounds) to help your brain process those difficult memories so you no longer experience those distressing emotions. When you no longer feel distressed, you are more able to live your life in a way that feels good to you.
Couples Therapy for Depression
There are lots of reasons why a relationship may not feel stable and fulfilling including money worries, job stresses, health problems and big changes like moving house and becoming parents. It’s not always easy to navigate these types of changes and challenges and this can sometimes have a negative impact on your mental health and lead to symptoms of depression.
Couples Therapy for Depression is a type of Evidence Based Therapy recommended by NICE (National Institute of Clinical Excellence) and is frequently used in the NHS.
